Developed for Aerial Photography with redundancy in mind. It is 560mm from motor shaft to motor shaft diagonally and the plates are 1/16" thick.

There are motor plates on the top and bottom, so you can configure this frame as a QUAD or an X8 (8 motors, 4 on top and 4 on bottom).

In X8 configuration you can lose up to 4 motors and still land safely as long as you do not lose two on the same arm. The beauty of an X8 is that you can still use a STANDARD QUAD controller such as the GAUI 344, or any other quad controller. Simply use a Y connector to split each motor channel, and 8 esc's.

It is possible to run the top and bottom motors from different batteries for complete power system redundancy. For ultimate redundancy, the bottom prop on each arm should rotate the same direction as the top prop (a standard quad controller will work in this configuration). In this mode you may lose up to 4 motors and still land safely will full control!
